Tame summer allergies
Summer’s just around the corner and, for many of us, so is allergy season. But Julia Woodford, Editor of Vitality Magazine, recommends three simple steps that can prevent allergies before they start and even cure them after they’ve taken hold:
Eliminate dietary allergens
Research indicates that allergic reactions to airborne substances will only appear if dietary triggers are also present. Check for foods that contribute to an allergic response and be sure to eliminate them during allergy season.
Flush the liver
Because the liver deals with all incoming contaminants, improved liver function benefits the whole body, especially during allergy season. Dandelion, burdock root, milk thistle and turmeric are just some of the foods that she suggests will help cleanse the liver.
Strengthen the immune system
Get more sleep, drink more water and increase your intake of onions and garlic which are considered allergy-fighting foods.
