Don Currie of Edmonton refuses to let diabetes slow him down. The retired geologist is a car rally enthusiast, but one of the trips that made him most nervous was traveling by car through Germany. Currie explains, “I had some trepidation about that kind of travel. One of the comfort zones I had was the MedicAlert bracelet around my wrist. I knew that if I went down that they could dial anywhere and people would know what my story is.” The 66 year old adds, “If you’ve got a condition that could cause some problems, I would think you’d want the emergency people to know in an instant what to do. Anybody with any disease or problem should have a MedicAlert. As the kids would say, it’s a no-brainer to have this thing.”
