If a person with dementia goes missing…
1Call 911 or your local police.
2When police arrive, have relevant information ready such as a photo, description of what the registrant is wearing, colour, make and license number of the car if they are driving. Keep this information up to date on your MedicAlert profile so it’s in one easy place to retrieve.
3Inform police that the person has a MedicAlert ID. The police can access the 24/7 Emergency Hotline for details on vital information, including wandering history and personal attributes, for example their age and hair colour.
