|In March, the Eastern Ontario communities of Brockville and Gananoque became the latest in Canada to join the growing number of regions to offer the MedicAlert Connect Protect service.
“We are pleased to announce our partnership with MedicAlert. Quick access to important information will help us to better protect our most vulnerable citizens,” says Brockville Police Service Staff Sgt. Andrew Harvie.
Adds Chief Garry Hull “This will certainly enhance the capabilities of our members to provide increased capabilities and a much-improved response to the needs of those suffering from a variety of conditions. The Gananoque Police Service encourages and appreciates all partnerships with community stakeholders that provide additional information to improve responses to our most vulnerable.”
This one-of-a-kind partnership service gives police, emergency responders and healthcare providers 24/7 direct access to a registered subscriber’s photo, identity, past wandering history, behavioural management techniques, and other vital emergency information through their MedicAlert ID. The service was first launched in 2015 and is now available in 32 regions through both municipal police and RCMP.
If MedicAlert Connect Protect is not yet in your community, please ask your local police to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
