Protection That Speaks

Each MedicAlert ID is supported by a Personal Health Record and our 24/7 Emergency Hotline. In an emergency, First Responders can call our toll-free number on the back of the ID and use the unique ID number to instantly access critical health information, notify emergency contacts, and make faster, safer decisions about your care.

For Noella, a Lifesaving Call Started with Her Bracelet

An hour after Noella’s granddaughter, Maya, left her home after a visit, Noella set out for her usual 2km stroll. She felt perfectly fine when she left home, but partway through her walk, her vision blurred, her body weakened, and she began to lose her balance.

She was going into diabetic shock.

A young person nearby noticed Noella was in distress and came to help. They saw her MedicAlert bracelet and called the number on the back.

Within moments, First Responders were on their way—already informed of her medical history and prepared to act quickly.  When Noella regained consciousness in the hospital, a nurse calmly explained that they had already contacted Maya to tell her where Noella was, and to assure her she was safe.

Thanks to her MedicAlert ID, Noella got the help she needed—and it saved her life.
