Primary Objectives:

The Content Marketing Specialist will be responsible for delivering a variety of content to acquire, retain and nurture subscribers, business partners and government partners.

The Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, creation and delivery of communications that support the expansion and growth of the organization’s products, programs and, under the director of the CEO, support fundraising content efforts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Support the development and execution of content strategy to inform and educate people about MedicAlert.
  • In collaboration with Content team members, build and execute strategic search engine marketing (SEM), email marketing, and digital advertising campaigns that drive subscriber acquisition.
  • Create campaigns to nurture leads, reduce churn and engage current subscribers.
  • Lead and develop webinar and podcast strategies.
  • Write and manage subscriber communications including, but not limited to, newsletters, direct mail, call centre scripts, and email.
  • Enhance search engine optimization (SEO) to ensure optimal performance for channel and user experience.
  • Maintain content calendars.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to establish and articulate internal and external key messages and ensure content is aligned accordingly.
  • Create content to support programs and fundraising efforts.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all marketing materials and channels.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree, with 5-7 years of experience in a digital marketing communications or content development role, preferably IN not for profit.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills; ability to write compelling stories to different stakeholder groups using a variety of mediums.
  • Must be a “doer”, with an all-hands-on deck attitude.
  • Thrive on innovation and generate ideas to help MedicAlert meet its business objectives.
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of web metrics, digital analytics, with the ability to generate, analyze and interpret data to identify gaps and opportunities for lead generation.
  • Must be able to work under constant deadline pressure and manage multiple projects across multiple business channels.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems, HubSpot preferred.
  • Familiarity with SEO guidelines and keyword research tools (e.g., Moz and Google Keyword Planner)
  • Experience with Marketing Automation Systems is an asset, HubSpot preferred.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
