MedicAlert Connect Protect service will help Peel Regional Police officers reunite lost, wandering, and vulnerable individuals with their families

“MedicAlert Connect Protect” provides emergency responders and police with quick 24/7 access to a subscriber’s medical profile. This service is ideal for vulnerable loved ones who may wander, such as those with Alzheimer’s or autism, and for those living with a medical condition that could require immediate and focused attention in an emergency.

Benefits of “MedicAlert Connect Protect”:

  • Ensures Peel Police have information about your loved one, such as their caregiver, wandering history, anxiety triggers, and an up-to-date photo.
  • Subscribers receive customized medical IDs engraved using globally-accepted medical terminology, family notification services, and more.

“I am pleased about the new partnership with MedicAlert. It will provide our employees with critical information about subscribers ensuring that appropriate resources are aligned to ensure their safety. Peel Regional Police is committed to service excellence and this initiative helps do just that.” said Chief Jennifer Evans.

“It’s critical that we’re able to find and recognize wandering or unidentified people as quickly and efficiently as possible, both to protect our subscribers and also to save police resources,” explains Robert Ridge, President of MedicAlert. “In an emergency situation, Peel Regional Police will have access to vital information that will save valuable time and unnecessary worry from family members and caregivers.”

To kick-off this partnership, Peel Regional Police and MedicAlert will be at The Seniors’ Fair on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Meadowvale Community Centre, 6655 Glen Erin Drive, Mississauga, ON.

Thanks to the Peel Regional Police and MedicAlert Foundation Canada, the first 200 new MedicAlert subscribers at this event will receive their first-year service plan and a MedicAlert ID at no cost.  Learn more about MedicAlert, how it works, and how you or a loved one can sign up to a service plan by visiting  medicalert.ca or calling 1-866-696-0273.
