York Regional Police proud partner in bringing MedicAlert Connect Protect to York Region

We will be launching this partnership as part of our annual Seniors’ Day event which takes place on June 26, 2018, at 8 a.m. at the Aaniin Community Centre located at 5665 14th Avenue, in the City of Markham.

MedicAlert Connect Protect gives police officers 24-hour access to a registered subscriber’s photo, identifying information, past wandering history and other medical information through the MedicAlert identification and associated database.

This information will help officers search more efficiently, increasing the chances that those who go missing are reunited with their loved ones sooner. Officers called to an emergency involving a MedicAlert subscriber will have access to vital information which could save a life.

“Partnerships within our community, like this one, help us to better protect our more vulnerable citizens because we can quickly access important information,” said York Regional Police Chief Eric Jolliffe. “We are committed to exploring any new options to meet the needs of our changing demographics and aging populations that help keep them safe.”

“It’s critical that we’re able to find and recognize wandering or unidentified people as quickly and efficiently as possible, both to protect our subscribers and also to save police resources,” explained Françoise Faverjon-Fortin, CEO of MedicAlert.
