MedicAlert’s Board of Directors Welcomes 7 New Members

MedicAlert Foundation Canada is very pleased to announce the addition of new members to our organization’s Board of Directors. Alongside our existing Directors, these volunteers are responsible for organizational governance, public accountability, and setting strategic priorities. Hailing from across Canada and representing a wide variety of skills and experience, we are proud to announce our new Board members.

Louis Beaubien is a professor at Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Management and serves as the Academic Director of the Creative Destruction Lab - Atlantic.

Barry Burk is a senior leader in the digital health industry with a proven track record in corporate development, strategic partnerships, and digital innovation. Currently Barry provides strategic advisory services to organizations focused on connected care, digital transformation and patient empowerment.

Maddie Ferguson is currently a Senior Manager at TELUS for their SmartHome Security portfolio, focusing on strategic planning and pricing for its national subscriber base. She has an extensive background in financial governance & analysis, international business development & sales, business planning, and product development.

Scott Ramey is a seasoned leader in emergency services, healthcare, and public administration. As Assistant Chief of Research & Accreditation at Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency, he oversees research, development, accreditation, and strategic planning. Scott's background includes clinical practice as a Critical Care Paramedic and various senior leadership roles.

Mark Rolnick is the Executive Vice President, Head of GreenShield Administration, where he is focused on bringing GreenShield’s Payer Provider model to life. He has a responsibility for multiple lines of business including outsourced benefits administration, pharmacy benefits management, specialty pharmacy and third-party administration for small business.

Stefany Singh is a seasoned digital strategy and transformation executive with over 15 years of experience leading innovative projects in healthcare, financial services, and technology. She has a proven track record of creating and delivering digital, data and technology strategies that drive organizational transformation, optimize digital products and platforms, and exceed key performance indicators.

Stephen Turner is an experienced leader in public and emergency services with a strong background in healthcare and municipal governance. Currently, he is the Manager and Chief of Lambton County Emergency Medical Services, where he leads a team of 160 paramedics and spearheads initiatives to improve service delivery, including interdisciplinary programs addressing mental health and addiction.

In addition to our new Board Members, MedicAlert Foundation Canada is grateful for the ongoing contributions and support from our existing Board Members, Leslie Quinton (Chair), Charlene McQuaid (Vice Chair), and Stacey Myers (Treasurer), and Farah Ismail, Danny Lew, Edward Odumodu, Ruth Ramsden-Wood, and Victoria Withers.

It is an exciting time for our organization, and the support from our Board of Directors, both new and existing, will be key to our success. We look forward to continued collaboration and support from our Board and want to share a warm welcome to all our new members.
